Kansas is a great state.
The interstate speed limit is 75.

SOOOOON for Michigan. (not all interstates though)

So you can stay awake.

30mi views are pretty neat.

And the lack of anything somehow still makes it feel like 55.

Random 50mph crosswinds are not. However, KS does have those cool giant 2-lane roads that I’ve never seen anywhere else. When my parents lived there, they had 65mph speed limits. On an undivided road with oncoming traffic. Ballsy.

Speed limit’s 80 in South Dakota. Would be nice in anything other than a Lada that is completely uncomfortable at anything above 55...

It’s 75 all over AZ as well as long as you’re out of town.

I’m saving the lack of anything for northern Nevada

That’s only 5 mph more than Pennsylvania, which has a substantially denser population and topographical features taller than a mosquito.

Montana puts a 70 mph limit on undivided two lane roads.

*compared to North Korea
You forgot this part of your sentence

I’ve never been to Kansas but was in Nebraska a couple weeks ago and they had an 80 mph limit in some parts

100% yes

That’s Missouri, or Oklahoma.

Florida has a couple of those.

I mean, in South Carolina troopers pretty much ignore anything below 80.
![]() 07/12/2017 at 15:48 |

Umm, that’s false. It’s I80, but it’s only 75.

There is no speed limit on many parts of the highways where I am now. Your argument is invalid.
Besides, Google tells me 75 mph is roughly 120 kmh. I’ve never been in a country with speed limits lower than that.

It’s 80 here in South Dakota so Kansas can suck it.
![]() 07/12/2017 at 16:04 |

When going through South Dakota I strongly suggest getting off the interstate. Especially in a vehicle not comfortable over 55. The interstate literally runs through the most boring part of the state and the side roads are much more scenic. The only thing the interstate is good for is getting from the Sioux Falls area to the Black Hills, fast.

False. Kansas charges me $7.75 to drive on a federally-funded interstate. Kansas sucks.

Missed that, got off the interstate in otterton.
![]() 07/12/2017 at 16:45 |

As does Texas
![]() 07/12/2017 at 16:49 |

I don’t think I’ve ever heard of Otterton — were you on 70? I-35 between Emporia and almost to the Emporia border is the Kansas Turnpike. I think it was $7.75 to drive about 125 miles. I have irrational anger about it!
![]() 07/12/2017 at 16:52 |

Either Montana or Idaho (maybe both) have 80. AZ has 75. Kansas would have to have a 175mph speed limit to make it a great state.

Through mountains as well.

Most of the West has 75+MPH speed limits.

But Kansas is the place where a university professor went on a Twinkie diet.
http://www.cnn.com/2010/HEALTH/11/08/twinkie.diet.professor/index.html
And that’s what you get for higher learning in Kansas.
Now go and have yourself a fried chicken and Twinkie dinner...

If you’re going from Kansas City to Winnipeg there isn’t really another route that promises gas stations and border crossings open every 200 miles in the middle of the night without adding hundreds of miles to the drive and sticking you on interstates anyhow. ¯\_()_/¯
Plus it’s not like they aren’t all four lanes and you can’t see people coming for miles.

Tell that to Washington. 60mph limits on some of the best maintained highways in the country.... Ugh

True, heading north it’s about the only way to go.
